RUSSELL MINERAL EQUIPMENT (RME) exists to enable our Customers to eliminate fatal risk and visibly, defensibly, and sustainably improve the performance of their mineral concentrators through fast, reliable safe mill relining. These concentrators are responsible for producing the minerals, like copper, needed for the energy transition. For 40 years, RME has dedicated itself to this noble purpose.

Raising the standard – for our industry and planet
RME was founded on the belief that we can make things better. Through collaborating across teams, collaborating with Customers and suppliers, as well as persistent innovation and enduring commitment, we have set new industry-wide safety standards and productivity gains for mill relining. We are shaping the future of the industry with pioneering robotic solutions that enhance our Customers' ability to produce minerals, such as copper, essential for the energy transition, more safely.
With deep and proud local roots in Toowoomba, Queensland, we have grown to operate in 64 countries, with 12 international Sales and Service Centres, employing more than 450 dedicated and skilled people worldwide. There are more than 440 mine sites across the planet served by RME’s equipment and services, including more than 570 RUSSELL Mill Relining Machines.

CURRENT EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

There is now an exciting opportunity for an Apprentice Electrician to join our team on a permanent, full-time basis.
What is the role?
- This position is based in our Toowoomba workshop and no travel is required!
- Develop the skills to be an advanced electrical fitter/mechanic.
- Gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge technology, including PLCs, automation systems, and complex installations.
- Work on highly specialised, world-class electrical systems and machinery used by major mining operations across the globe.
- Build expertise across assembly, installation, fault-finding, testing, and commissioning, all under the guidance of experienced tradespeople, ensuring you become a well-rounded and capable professional by the end of your apprenticeship.
- Work with electrohydraulic, electropneumatic, and advanced control components, developing mechanical awareness and a strong system-level understanding.
What are we looking for?
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- Minimum completion of year 10 education
- A strong commitment to the safety of yourself and others
- Ability to approach situations with a positive attitude
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
LICENCES
- Possession of current QLD Driver’s Licence (desirable)

There is now an exciting opportunity for a Storesperson to join RME's Packing team on a permanent full-time basis.
This role has a primary focus on building and assembling timber crates for shipping and logistics. This role will also complete other duties within our packing and warehouse departments to achieve a well-rounded skill set within our business.
This hands-on role is ideal for someone who enjoys practical work, has a strong attention to detail, and takes pride in producing high-quality results.
This role will require handling of heavy material and the use of both hand and power tools.
What are we looking for?
At RME we pride ourselves on living our values to create and maintain an exceptional culture. During our recruitment process we aim to find the right people who align with our values and culture.
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- Previous experience in wood working, cabinetry or general handy work involving power tools such as power saws
- A proactive attitude towards safety, e.g. Hazard identification, Take 5’s.
- Ability to be adaptable to tasks and a willingness to learn quickly.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Demonstrated organisation and time management skills.
- Effective written and spoken communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-based environment
The ideal candidate may also possess
- Demonstrable problem solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings little guidance.
- Certificate III or higher in logistics or warehousing.
LICENCES
- Possession of a current QLD ‘C’ Class Open Driver’s Licence
