RME wins at 2025 Queensland Training Awards Regional Finals

RME has been recognised as Large Employer of the Year in the 2025 Queensland Training Awards for the Darling Downs South West Region, and will now represent the region as a state finalist at the final Awards ceremony later this year.

RME has been named the Large Employer of the Year in the 2025 Queensland Training Awards for the Darling Downs South West Region, and will now proudly represent the region as a state finalist at the state awards ceremony later this year.

RME congratulates all fellow finalists and category winners, and sincerely thanks MAS National—sponsor of the Large Employer of the Year category—for supporting this recognition. We also acknowledge the Queensland Government for championing a culture of learning and professional growth through this award program.

The Queensland Government’s annual Training Awards have celebrated excellence in training since 1962. This year, over 740 nominations were assessed through written submissions and panel interviews, with a select group—including RME—progressing to finalist and regional winner status.

This achievement recognises the strength and impact of RME’s integrated Learning and Development (L&D) programs, which combine technical training, personalised coaching and mentoring, and hands-on experience across every level of the organisation—equipping every team member, from our trade apprentices on the workshop floor to our leadership team, with the knowledge and competencies needed to succeed.

It also reinforces RME’s unwavering commitment to delivering for our Customers. Through a culture of continuous learning, we ensure our team is equipped to provide exceptional engineering solutions, precision manufacturing, expert asset support, and sustained, progressive optimisation of mill relining. This is especially true as we accelerate the development and delivery of our world-first RME Advanced Technology Mill Relining System—integrating automation and roboticised processes to relocate crews out of harm’s way and establish new industry safety benchmarks.

“Being named the regional Large Employer of the Year in the 2025 Queensland Training Awards is a fantastic recognition of our team’s hard work and dedication,” said Geoff Wadsworth, Chief Operating Officer. “It’s a reflection of our collective commitment to building capability and delivering exceptional outcomes for our Customers."

"L&D at RME isn’t just a strategic priority—it’s central to our mission. By equipping our people with specialised knowledge and skills, shaped by 40 years of industry innovation, we’re enabling safer and more productive outcomes for Customers around the world. Congratulations to everyone at RME who contributed to this achievement."

The award also acknowledges the depth and intentionality of RME’s internal development efforts, driven by a strong culture of support and individual growth.

“This recognition affirms the depth and impact of our programs,” said Debra Nawrotzky, Global Manager, Learning and Development. “It’s especially meaningful because it reflects the genuine care and tailored support we pour into our programs—from leadership development to apprenticeship pathways. Their progress, which contributes to our company’s success, is our shared achievement."

"Just as importantly, these programs help shape meaningful, rewarding careers for our people—opening doors to growth, purpose, and long-term success."

Training also plays a critical role in RME’s customer value proposition, with specialised programs supporting mine site safety and operational efficiencies in the high-risk field of mill relining.

“Being named a winner reinforces the value of technical training and site support as life-saving investments. At RME, these programs do more than upskill equipment operators—they’re about fostering ever-safer processes and behaviours across the mineral processing industry and helping build meaningful careers, livelihoods and lives for mill relining crews worldwide.”

Benjamin Waters, Site Service and Optimisation Training Supervisor

Supported through collaboration with TAFE Queensland and the Queensland Department of Employment, Small Business and Training, RME’s Certified Training programs have equipped more than 2,200 mill relining professionals across 36 countries—strengthening global safety standards and advancing operational expertise in one of the industry’s most necessary yet highest-risk maintenance tasks associated with mineral concentrators, now being continually made safer through RME’s leadership.
