Equipment Training

Russell Mineral Equipment offers training at our purpose built RME Customer Service and Training Facility at our company Headquarters in Toowoomba, or at our customers site.  Some training can be completed at our subsidiaries located in Salt Lake City, Santiago, and Johannesburg.  RME's trainers are qualified as Certificate IV Registered Trainers and assessors, and the certified and customised courses that RME now offer meet or are developed to AQTF (Australian Quality Training Framework) standards.  The AQTF Standards are an internationally recognised educational qualification.

Customised courses

Just as RME's Mill Relining System is tailored for the needs of each individual mine site, RME's Training can also be customised to match the specific equipment at any site. These courses are run to the highest training and mining industry standards, and are developed using AQTF guidelines.

Course Descriptions

Russell Mineral Equipment designs and manufactures the world’s highest quality mill relining equipment and can now offer accredited training with the same excellence and quality in the following:

  • 30932QLD Course in Operate a Mill Reline Machine.
  • 30933QLD Course in Operate a Recoilless THUNDERBOLT Hammer.

RME's customised training can draw on modules developed to enable participants to understand various elements of operation, safety, and rudimentary maintenance of:

  • The range of THUNDERBOLT Hammers
  • THUNDERBOLT Suspension and Powerpacks
  • O-ZONE Liner Lifting Tools and T-MAG
  • RUSSELL and MILLMAST Mill Liner Handlers
  • RUSSELL Mill Relining Machine (including RUSSELL TWIN Mill Relining Machines)
  • RUSSELL Feed Chute Technologies, and
  • Special engineered solutions that RME has developed for customers.

RME can develop and run training courses from these modules exclusively for your organisation.  Our training is focused on what we know best; our Mill Relining System.  However if a customer expresses a particular need for training on a non-RME Mill Relining System topic (eg forklift, confined spaces) we encourage them to let us know, and we will work with you to determine whether this is suitable to package in with the RME Mill Relining System training.

RME's objective is to provide our customers with Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF) standard training on the operation of RME Mill Relining Systems components, which will provide participants with the knowledge to operate RME Mill Relining Systems equipment safely and reliably.

Who should attend

These training courses are relevant to a variety of personnel, including:

  • Mill reline crews
  • Mill operations personnel
  • Potential purchasers of equipment

Benefits / Expected outcomes

On completion of training, participants will have gained the knowledge to operate the equipment to its maximum potential, and to understand the safety functions built into the equipment, potentially prolonging the life of the equipment, your investment.

RME is the only provider worldwide who can deliver accredited training courses in operating a Mill Relining Machine and THUNDERBOLT Hammer, that will have the international recognition provided by the Australian education system.

On successful completion of the training, students will receive a 'Statement of Attainment', issued by the Southern Queensland Institute of TAFE for the accredited training courses, and a 'Certificate of Attendance' for RME's customised training.
