Russell Mineral Equipment celebrates 30 years

RUSSELL Mineral Equipment's 150 employees from across Australia have gathered at the company's Toowoomba headquarters to celebrate its 30th anniversary.

The company started from humble beginnings on a veranda at 20 Eleanor St, Toowoomba, in 1985.

Dr John Russell has led Russell Mineral Equipment's significant growth, culminating in the mining construction boom from 2005 - 2013.

RME's post-boom focus combines equipment manufacturing with an expanding service activity globally through its established service centres in Australia-Pacific/Eastern Europe, South America, North America and Africa.

Its installed fleet grew from 100 mill relining systems in 2007 to 350 in 2015.

RME's management and staff celebrated with Empire Theatre chairman Professor Peter Swannell and Heritage Bank CEO John Minz.

Messages of congratulations were received from Member for Groom Ian Macfarlane and Toowoomba Mayor Paul Antonio.

"I am proud to have seen this Australian company deliver tremendous value for our customers worldwide by converting our intellectual property into interesting and rewarding vocations for all of RME's people, both in Australia and overseas," Dr Russell said.
