Group Information Systems Manager
Jonathan Hooper is Group Information Systems Manager for Russell Mineral Equipment, having been with the company since 2011. With technology playing a central role in the growth of RME’s global operations and its ability to impeccably serve its world-wide Customer base, it is critical RME’s IT team is highly-skilled and capable of delivering. Under Jonathan’s evidence-based technology and people-centric approach, he ensures this happens.
Jonathan’s role is a key member of the RME management team and responsible for developing and maintaining the availability of information communications technology and business information platforms to support RME’s strategic goals as it transitions from its mechanical design and manufacturing origins to a world-leading mill relining automation technology company.
Jonathan leads a strong cohort of IT specialists that includes program and change managers, IT systems and support engineers, application specialists, programmers and business analysts, tasked with ensuring RME’s IT communications networks, data platforms and server environments are robust, available and reliable, safe and secure. All of these critical systems form the digital nervous system of RME’s infrastructure, connecting the interdependent parts of the organisation globally so they function as a cohesive whole.
Originally from New Zealand, Jonathan has previously held a number of senior IT roles across a variety of sectors including CIO at Fulton Hogan, a New Zealand-based regionally-active civil infrastructure construction, roadworks and aggregate organisation, and CIO at Barfoot and Thompson, New Zealand's largest privately-owned real estate company.
Jonathan holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Information systems as well as a Master in Management Studies (MMS) in Information Technology from the University of Waikato.
