Chief Software Engineer
Appointed Chief Software Engineer for Russell Mineral Equipment in 2017, Froilan Yap plays a core role in the Information Systems group – the team that is a key enabler for RME’s growth in capacity, capability and digital transformation across its global operations.
In this role, Froilan assesses, architects and directs the development of RME business information systems and ensures rigorous, robust and efficient software development processes. He works collaboratively on IS infrastructure projects, such as the RME365 program, across functional lines as technology becomes ubiquitous and permeates all areas of the business. Froilan enjoys the challenges presented by this role and understands how mission-critical information systems underpin RME’s productivity, performance and on-time in-full delivery of the preeminent RUSSELL Mill Relining System to mineral processing clients around the world.
Froilan joined RME in 2010 as a Business Information Analyst and moved through a variety of positions with increasing responsibility. This gave Froilan strong exposure to the business of RME and the role of IT in supporting its strategic objectives and operational processes.
Froilan is passionate about technology and a strong programmer with 25+ years working in information systems and software development. Prior to RME, Froilan worked as an Analyst Programmer for a number of organisations in the Philippines, Singapore and the US. Froilan was also an Applications Manager in the ERP software sector with SABRE Information Services, a Singapore-based SAP Solutions Partner with operations across APAC and the US.
Froilan possesses a Bachelor of Science with a major in Computer Science and a Master in Management in Business Management (1997) from the University of San Jose-Recoletos.
