Regional Service Manager, Western Australia
Trent Donges is Russell Mineral Equipment’s Regional Service Manager for Western Australia – a role that operates in support for a region where the minerals sector accounts for the lion’s share of the state’s income and makes a considerable contribution to Australian exports and the domestic economy.
In 2015, Trent took up the challenge to move from his home town of Toowoomba to WA into what was essentially a start-up role. The goal was to establish a local presence and grow the aftermarket engineering and services business for the RUSSELL Mill Relining System and related technologies in the region. In this role, Trent’s focus is the provision of world-class asset support and all facets of client services including shutdowns, commissioning, servicing, spare parts provisioning, component overhauls, ad-hoc technical or emergency support, and customer training. Furthermore, his close working relationships with RME’s clients on-the-ground means he is able to identify optimisation opportunities which extend mill reline reliability, productivity, and most importantly, safety.
Trent joined RME in 2011 bringing with him a highly-practical toolset, a can-do attitude and problem solving mindset. After working 9 months as a technician in the assembly team and gaining hands-on experience with RUSSELL Mill Relining Machines, Trent stepped into the role of a Customer Service Technician. Prior to RME Trent spent time on the land working his family property, was an active Australian Army Reservist, and completed an auto mechanic trade. Trent possesses a Cert 2 in Agriculture, a Cert 3 in Transport and Logistics (Logistics and Warehousing Operations), a Cert 3 in Auto Mechanical Engineering (Light Vehicles), Cert 2 in Surface Extraction Operations and a Cert 4 Engineering (Fluid Power). Most notably, Trent gained first place 1st in Queensland and 6th overall in the 2010 National Word Skills Competition!
