Owen Flemming

Regional General Manager, North America

Owen Flemming has been part of the fabric of Russell Mineral Equipment for more than most after commencing his career as a Cadet Engineer back in 2004. Today he is RME’s Regional General Manager for North America and a core contributor to the management team leading the delivery of mill reline solutions and optimisation programs to Customers in this important geographical market.

Owen’s primary mission is to grow the ‘RME Mill Relining Systems’ brand in North America through a truly authentic Customer-first service ethos. This includes supporting existing Customers for spare parts, technical services, and mill reline optimisation programs, as well as growing relationships with new mine sites, projects and EPCM’s to build strong preference for RME’s exceptionally-engineered mill relining machines which set the standard for safety and mine site productivity.

Prior to Owen’s promotion to Regional General Manager, North America, he was RME’s Value Stream Manager for the company’s THUNDERBOLT Recoilless Hammer brand – class-leading technology for the exacting task of removing grinding mill liner bolts more efficiently, effectively and safely. In this role he was responsible for the continuous improvement in the product range and ensuring flow and velocity across the THUNDERBOLT order-production-shipping value stream. Owen’s practical creativity ensured he always delivered to task.

Owen’s deeply-held knowledge and experience with the RME Mill Relining System is a result of his long-term commitment to the organisation. After learning the ropes as a Cadet Engineer, Owen moved into the role of Engineering Design Draftsperson, then Graduate Engineer in 2011. In 2013 Owen was promoted to Engineering Team Coordinator before moving through the roles of Regional Customer Support and Regional General Management (Australia, Asia, Pacific, Europe and Middle East) between 2016 and 2018 prior to assuming his present position in 2020.

Owen has a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering with First Class Hours from the University Of Southern Queensland and he completed a Diploma of Management in 2015 with TAFE Queensland South West.
