Service Manager Technical

Andrew Ball is Russell Mineral Equipment’s Service Manager Technical, a role that bears responsibility for the management of RME’s technical service operations. Heading up this function since 2015, Andrew oversees the comprehensive asset support platform for the RUSSELL Mill Relining System – a program that makes certain RME in-service equipment is maintained to a consistent, high-quality, world-class standard whilst adhering to Quality, Safety and Lean methodologies.

Andrew leads a dedicated team of asset support engineers and service delivery specialists who work collaboratively with the Regional General Managers (RGMs) and Customer Support Technicians (CSTs) staff to deliver technology upgrades, major technical service programs, and day-to-day engineering support. He also oversees the training of RME’s CSTs to ensure their skills are world’s best, they remain fully-briefed on the latest RME technology, are always compliant with safe work practices, and possess the critical knowledge required to expertly service RME’s highly-specialised equipment in remote, rugged and harsh environments around the world. The outcomes for RME’s Customers are the safe and reliable performance of their mill relining assets, reduced operating and lifecycle costs, maximum uptime and life span, and superior grinding mill productivity and profitability.

Prior to RME Andrew gained solid technical support experience in his role as Account Manager Mining at Hastings Deering, the Australian distributor for CAT equipment and one of the top 5 CAT dealers globally. Andrew was also Asia Pacific Regional Parts Manager, and Technical Sales Manager at J.C. Bamford Excavators Limited (universally known as JCB), one of the world's largest manufacturers of heavy equipment for mining, construction, agriculture and waste handling, and Regional Technical Manager for MANITOU BF, a world-wide manufacture of heavy materials handling equipment.

Andrew has achieved a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Deakin University in 2007 and a Diploma of Project Management (Cert IV) From the Australian Institute of Management in 2014.
