Neil Wright is Russell Mineral Equipment’s Quality Manager – a role with a broad scope to sustain RME’s quality program and ensure everyone works together to continuously improve the company’s processes, products, capability and culture, and ultimately the Customer experience.
In this multi-faceted position, Neil leads a range of initiatives which aim to embed a culture of steady progress and service excellence as the company delivers on its mission to make mill relines fast, reliable and safe for clients around the globe. This has included leading RME’s successful transition to the new ISO9001:2015 certification standard for best-practice quality management and actively managing audit programs and other assurance activities.
Neil also partners with RME team leaders to establish effective management systems documentation, as well as robust controls of this documentation, as processes evolve through time. Furthermore, his ability to collaborate across the business results in an ongoing program of review and improvement, and a point whereby safety, quality and lean principals intersect to ensure discipline and focus.
Neil came to RME in 2016 with 20+ years’ experience in quality management, assessment and assurance. Of note is Neil’s 14-year tenure as Quality Systems and Technology Manager with Orica Explosives, the world's largest provider of commercial explosives and blasting systems to the mining, quarrying, oil and gas and construction markets. Neil was also a Quality Engineer with Mack Trucks Australia and Project Manager with Toowoomba Regional Council.
Neil is credentialed with a Bachelor of Business (Logistics and Operations Management) gained in 2006 from the University of Southern Queensland. He also has an Advanced Diploma of Mechanical Engineering, and throughout his career has actively honed his quality management knowledge and skills through the completion of a number of certified Lean Six Sigma and Auditing courses.
