Senior Service Account Manager, South Africa

Marothi Phosa is Russell Mineral Equipment’s Senior Service Account Manager, based in South Africa, serving the wider African region – an area of the world that has untapped reserves of mineral wealth and strong development potential.

In this role, Marothi’s key objective, in partnership with the sales, service and supply chain team, and corporate services in Toowoomba, is to develop strong relationships with RME’s capital /After sales Customers and work across all facets of client services. This includes proactively engaging clients, developing insights into their needs and challenges, building solutions, solving operational issues, providing technical support, and identifying optimisation programs for improving mill reline reliability, efficiency and safety – and ultimately concentrator availability. Whilst a core focus is the provision of world-class asset support and building RME’s after market position, Marothi is also a key driver of greenfield customer projects needed to support profitable, sustainable growth for RME the African market.

Marothi’s engaging personality has seen him in Customer-facing roles since he joined the company in 2013. Prior to RME, Marothi’s grounding in Customer relations and service delivery was cultivated in his 3+ years with Atlas Copco, a global supplier of industrial tools and solutions, in Service Technician and Product Specialist roles. Marothi has attained a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Marketing and Management Science in 2019 from the IMM Graduate School Johannesburg.

Marothi also brings a strong base of technical skill and practical know-how to his role with a number of electrical trade qualifications including an Electrical Engineering Trade Test in Electronics and Electrical Engineering from i-Fundi, a corporate training provider offering accredited programmes across South Africa, and an Electrical Engineering N5 Certificate from Ekurhuleni West College in Johannesburg.
