Service Account Manager
Ian Wickham joined Russell Mineral Equipment in 2017 as Service Account Manager to focus on Customers in Asia Pacific – a region of key importance with the global mining sector on the cusp of a turnaround and APAC leading the way in terms of projects construction numbers and growing capital expenditure.
As a Service Account Manager, Ian’s role is a critical support for RME clients. In close collaboration with RME sales, service, manufacturing and procurement, Ian proactively engages with APAC Customers to deliver solutions that improve equipment productivity through reduced mill reline downtime and increased availability – whilst ever-enhancing safety. This includes executing service agreements, managing spare parts provisioning, ensuring Customer expectations are exceeded and operational issues are resolved in a timely manner. And, as trusted, consistent client partner, Ian brings data, knowledge, intelligence, as well as the voice of the Customer, back to the business – an important feedback conduit for RME being the authentic Customer-centric organisation that it is.
Prior to RME, Ian spent his time in the Australian agricultural sector. After growing up on a beef cattle and wheat farm, Ian completed a Bachelor of Applied Science in Horticulture Technology in 1999 from the University of Queensland. His first professional role was a Research and Development Specialist with Bayer Crop Science, the world-leading life science company with core competencies in crop protection, pest control, seeds and plant biotechnology. Ian then decided to follow his interest in sales and moved into Area Manager role with Agrobest, an Australian manufacturer of crop protection and liquid nutrition products. Ian also had a 8+ year tenure with Feed Central, Australia's largest online buying and selling platform for hay, straw, silage and grain, and where he played a key role in developing an innovative, highly-useful feedlot grading system enabling farmers to buy hay sight-unseen with the utmost confidence.
