Business Development Manager, West Africa
Hubert Gati is Russell Mineral Equipment’s Business Development Manager for the vast region that is West Africa. Hubert joined RME in 2018 and is based in Ghana – a country’s whose mining sector has seen a major resurgence over the past decade to become Africa's largest gold producer and other important mineral resources.
Hubert’s role, in collaboration with RME engineering, technical services and Customer support, is to develop and sustain RME’s business in the West Africa region through the cultivation of capital sales opportunities for the RUSSELL Mill Reline System, which makes the process of replacing mill liners fast, safe and reliable for minerals processing operations. This role also sees Hubert multi-tasking, working alongside mine site clients and mill industry allies delivering aftermarket services in support of RME’s mission to visibly, defensibly and sustainably improve concentrator performance.
Hubert joined RME armed with a strong background in business development, Customer relations and commercial sales, as well as a deep knowledge of the gold mining sector in Ghana. Most recently, Hubert was General Manager for Atlantic Quarry and Concrete Products Limited, a concrete quarry and manufacturer to construction clients. Prior to Atlantic, Hubert was Head of Sales and Business Development at Air Liquide Ghana, manufacturer and supplier of medical and industrial gases (oxygen, argon, acetylene, nitrogen, etc.) and specialty gases; and General Manager for Tanink Limited, a supplier of earthmoving equipment and vehicles to the mining and construction industry in Ghana. Hubert’s career start was as a Commercial and Administration Manager for Supply and Services Ghana Limited driving the sales of forklift spare parts and fire-fighting equipment.
Hubert holds a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in chemical engineering, with a specialty in the technology of chemical production from the University Matanzas in Cuba. Hubert also recently attained an Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) in entrepreneurial management in 2012 from the University of Ghana Business School.
