Engineering Manager – Asset Support (Toowoomba)

Leading and developing a growing team of Engineers, Draftspersons and other Technical personnel to ensure engineering excellence and world-class support of a fleet of in-service critical equipment, is what this position is about. Established for thirty-seven years our client, Russell Mineral Equipment (RME), is the acknowledged world leader in grinding Mill Relining Systems. Reporting to the Group Manager – Asset Support, and in collaboration with other key stakeholders across the organisation, in this role you will apply your leadership, operational management competence, best practice knowledge and hands-on approach to leading and developing the Asset Support Engineering Team.

This will involve:

  • ensuring the health, safety and wellbeing of employees;
  • managing, leading and developing the team;
  • reviewing and communicating business objectives and priorities to the team;
  • liaising with other departments and teams to ensure cross-functional alignment of processes and systems;
  • ensuring that the team’s Engineering skills and capabilities are aligned to wider business requirements;
  • ensuring technical control and compliance of Engineering activities;
  • maintaining alignment between capacity and demand to ensure on-time delivery of profitable solutions; &
  • related monitoring, evaluation, reporting and improvement.

Your ability to effectively lead and develop a multi-disciplinary technical cohort, while maintaining the day-to-day efficiency and effectiveness of the Asset Support Engineering function, coupled with your demonstrated interpersonal, analytical and organisational skills, strong relationship management skills and customer service ethic, commercial acumen and pragmatic approach, will underpin your success in this rewarding role.

Significant experience in the leadership and management of technical and/or engineering personnel is essential. Relevant tertiary qualifications (e.g. Engineering, Business, Project Management), experience managing a multi-disciplinary team, working in a structured Engineering Management System environment and with Product Lifecycle Management software will be a distinct advantage.

This role, which is becoming vacant due to an internal promotion, is based at RME’s Global Headquarters in Toowoomba, Queensland, and some domestic and international travel may be required. Contracts Administrator – Technical (Toowoomba)

There is now an exciting opportunity for a Contracts Administrator – Technical on a permanent, full-time basis.

What's the role?

This role is responsible for reducing RME’s external exposure to risk relating to technical matters. This includes understanding RME’s preferred position and formulating a mutually agreed position in relation to contractual technical matters. The role will include formulating, negotiating, administering, submitting and approving technical aspects of all contractual agreements for the sale of RME’s suite of products and technologies

What are we looking for?

  • General engineering background with good mechanical and electrical knowledge, aptitude and experience, or the ability to develop the skills required
  • Sound technical writing skills, with the ability to analyse equipment to improve documentation and procedures and maintenance of RME technical specifications

Customer Service Representative – Service and Spare Parts (Toowoomba)

There is now an exciting opportunity for an Customer Service Representative – Service and Spare Parts on a permanent full-time basis.

What’s the role?

As the successful applicant, you would support our existing Customers to deliver service and spare parts to lower operating costs through improving the safety and reliability of RME Mill Relining Systems in order to achieve fast, reliable and safe relines.

As the successful candidate you will undertake a range of duties for Customer Service, Internal Sales and Service Coordination. This will include:

  • Respond to requests for service and spare parts quotations
  • Prepare quotations for the generation of sales collateral such as Major Service scopes, Critical Spare Parts lists and Product quotations
  • Provide accurate and timely opportunity activity updates for reporting
  • Undertake a range of activities to coordinate services including parts interpretation and delivery
  • Provide site and asset details to field technicians for service visits
  • Manage bookings of our suite of specialist hire tooling

What are we looking for?

  • At least 3 years’ aftersales support experience, preferably in a mining or export-related industry
  • Ability to seek out and develop new working relationships, following through with proposals or quotes
  • Demonstrated desire to delight Customers, going above and beyond the call of duty
  • Highly-developed communication and negotiation skills
  • Demonstrated organisational and time management skills with demonstrated ability to work in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Well-developed Microsoft Office skills, primarily in the use of Excel spreadsheets

Boilermaker (Toowoomba)

There is now an exciting opportunity for a Boilermaker to join the Fabrication Team on a permanent, full-time, basis.

Boilermakers are responsible for the efficient fabrication and welding of RME-manufactured equipment to a high standard of workmanship and safety. Boilermakers must have a genuine interest in fabricating high-quality, high-performance, specialised machines.

Strong interpersonal skills, such as the ability to take direction, respond positively to criticism, and be proactive in seeking feedback and the ability to work respectfully in a team environment are critical to success in this role.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience

REQUIRED

  • Experience in flat plate fabrication, with the ability and desire to produce the highest-quality fabrications to AS1554 parts 1 and 4
  • Experience with Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW)
  • Experience in reading and interpreting Engineering drawings
  • Demonstrated organisation and time management skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to approach situations with a positive ‘can-do’ attitude

DESIRABLE

  • Trade-qualified in the area of Metal Fabrication or Boilermaker
    Post-trade certified in AS1796 certificates 7, 8G and 9
  • Experience in Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) and Submerged Arc Welding (SAW)
  • Basic mechanical aptitude
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing Toolkits experience
  • Basic IT proficiency, including Microsoft Office software

LICENCES

  • Possession of a current QLD ‘C’ Class Open Driver's licence (required)
  • A current ‘MR’ Class driver’s licence (desirable)

Service Account Manager (Toowoomba)

There is now an exciting opportunity for a Service Account Manager on a permanent, full-time, basis.

What is the role?

As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for collaboratively developing RME’s opportunities and relationships with existing Customers. This will include:

  • Working with the Customer and RME’s Customer Support team to ensure the delivery of consistent, world-class service and maintenance through quality asset management;
  • Actively participating in Customer engagement efforts to ensure that RME is a Proactive Partner;
  • Providing regular, rapid responses to Customer needs and completes designated calls and routes;
  • Ensuring the sustainability of the Service business through accuracy in fiscal and administrative responsibilities;
  • Providing leadership in Sales and Service processes, including the development and implementation of such processes;
  • Actively work with Customers in order to improve their concentrator performance and to maximise on revenue potential; and
  • Forming relationships with potential Customers to determine the level of potential and, where appropriate, engage with the Customer.

What we’re looking for

  • At least 3 years’ aftersales support experience, preferably in a mining- or export-related field. Attractive specialisations include: Industry and/or Customer specific; Technical and major service; Logistic and shipping; Service Contract; and Service Agreements.
  • A candidate who is results oriented and highly proactive, but also adaptable to dynamic and fast-paced environment
  • A strong drive to see sales through to completion whilst maintaining strong business acumen
  • Ability to seek out and develop mutually beneficial relationships with Customers, as well as follow through with proposals or quotes
  • Ability to quickly generate rapport and understand, interpret and respond clearly to others
  • Well-developed negotiation and persuasion skills
  • A desire to delight Customers, going ‘above and beyond’ the call of duty
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to determine priorities, meet deadlines and take follow-up action until finalisation
  • Flexibility to travel both domestically and internationally

DESIRABLE
