DATA MIGRATION OFFICER (based in Toowoomba, QLD)

We have an opportunity for a Data Migration Officer to join our Team. Within the Asset Support Engineering team, the Data Migration Officer is responsible for the consolidation, cleansing and migration of legacy machine drawings and data to RMEs Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system, enabling the ongoing support of operational machines. Data for migration may include as-built machine drawings, BoMs, schematics and supporting documentation.

The Data Migration Officer will report to the Engineering Team Leader and will be expected to process a high volume of CAD data and documents, manage a busy and varied workload and make independent decisions in relation to the correct processing of data. The data migration officer is expected to complete both migration and some drafting tasks of competing priority within defined time periods to a high standard of quality and accuracy.

The Data Migration Officer will be expected to function effectively in a team environment, within engineering teams and in dealings with other areas of RME.

SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Required

  1. General IT proficiencies including the use of databases and the core Microsoft Office suite
  2. Ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team
  3. Demonstrable ability to plan and prioritise workload, working to tight project timelines
    with changing priorities
  4. Highly developed analytical skills with excellent attention to detail and accuracy

  4. At least 12 month’s experience using PTC Windchill or other Product Lifecycle Management software in a similar industry

  6. At least 12 month’s experience using a 3D CAD modelling package, preferably SolidWorks

Contracts Analyst - Capital (based in Toowoomba, QLD)

We have an exciting opportunity for a Contracts Analyst – Capital to join the Contracts and Projects Management team on a permanent full-time basis. The Contracts Analyst – Capital is responsible for assisting the Contracts and Projects Manager to reduce RME’s exposure to external risk. This is achieved through reviewing, formulating, negotiating and summarising contracts for the sale of RME.

SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Required

  1. Experience in understanding, interpreting and negotiating RME Mill Relining Systems and Site Services and Optimisation (SS&O) contracts with potential and existing Customers.
  2. Exemplifies Customer advocacy and exhibits a Customer centric approach in carrying out the requirements of the role.
  3. Experience in general office procedures, e.g. database applications, email, handling correspondence, version control, internet and word processing.
  4. Meticulous attention to detail, with the ability to anticipate problems before they arise and take appropriate action to ensure that solutions are found.
  5. Intermediate to advanced understanding of legal principles, particular contract law.
  6. Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to determine work priorities, meet deadlines and take follow-up action until finalisation.
  7. Strong written and spoken communication skills, with the ability to prepare and present professional reports and proposals and to communicate in a clear and concise manner.
  8. Well-developed negotiation and persuasion skills.

Mechanical Design Engineer - Asset Support (based in Toowoomba, QLD)

Integral to the organisation's core business, the opportunity now exists for a Mechanical Engineer to work closely with RME’s Regional Service Centres to quote, design and deliver equipment updates, and to provide support for major machine overhauls and RME’s in-field Technicians.

Reporting to an Asset Support Engineering Team Leader, and working closely with other members of the Engineering Team and broader RME cohort, in this role you will produce documentation that supports the sustainment and upgrade of RME’s in-service equipment. Such documentation may include commercial offers, finite element analysis (FEA) reports, detailed calculation sheets and engineering reports. You will also design and produce detailed drawings required to progress any given part or assembly from concept to ready for manufacture. Often the first point of contact, you will also be required to respond urgently to situations that affect RME’s Customers’ maintenance shutdowns. Working with legacy designs and data, you must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, often with limited information, to deliver quality outcomes for Customers’ assets.

SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • A degree qualification in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering and experience (ideally 2+ years) in a professional engineering environment (ideally manufacturing related)
  • Demonstrated proficiency with a 3D modelling application (preferably SolidWorks) and basic knowledge of material sciences is required
  • Sound knowledge of hydraulic principles and design
  • Demonstrated experience with creating price estimates and quotes for the supply of mechanical equipment/parts and/or engineering services
  • Experience with ERP (ideally MS Dynamics/365) and PLM (ideally PTC Windchill) software would be a distinct advantage
  • Current, or significant progress towards, CPEng/RPEQ accreditation would also be a distinct advantage

Electrical (Design) Engineer (based in Toowoomba, QLD)

We have an opportunity for an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team and take responsibility for the electrical layout and design of high-quality mining-related equipment. This will involve you in all facets of engineering required to progress specific engineering projects from concept through to completion of drawings.

In this role you will report to the Electrical Team Leader, and work with an experienced group of Electrical, Mechatronics and Engineering staff to:

  • Create detailed schematics and assembly drawings
  • Design electrical switchgear and controls as required for mobile machines
  • Contribute to the design safety architectures that implement safety functions required for hazard risk reduction
  • Utilise CAN bus communication systems and more

SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • A degree qualification in Electrical Engineering
  • Previous hands-on experience (preferably 2+ years) in a quality electrical engineering environment (ideally in a manufacturing context)
  • Utilising AutoCAD (or similar) for electrical schematics, and experience interpreting electrical schematic functionality at both low-voltage Motor Control and Control Logic level
  • Experience in both the interpretation of Engineering Standards and the design of original architecture and verification/validation of safety systems will be a distinct advantage
  • Progress towards certification at CPEng/RPEQ level will be well regarded
